Dr. Neal’s Ultimate Home Workout (For all levels of fitness)

Thursday, February 26th, 2009

While helping to battle patient’s anxiety and depression for many years,  I’ve found that balancing a patient’s physical body chemistry and circulation has more of an impact on the mind’s health than than any prescription medicine, therapy, or life coaching.   It’s always a challenge to bring someone to the next level of fitness because advice is often met with reflex resistance.  If the patient is already going to the gym,  I will hear  ”I’m already working out all the time!”  and if the patient is not working out, I often hear, “I don’t have time for the gym…”

To cater to every situation,  I have created a special workout for any patient or client that does not currently feel amazingly energetic, powerfully inspirational, or able to find joy anymore.      You can do this workout in your home or at the gym and it takes less time than watching a rerun on TV.  (there really is no good excuse not to join in here…)

I teach people that we are no longer working out for reasons of body image.  The workouts are really needed for the mind.  (not everyone has come to this realization yet.)

If done exactly as prescribed, this workout culture will change you life in dramatic ways.  You can’t imagine the rewards until you feel them.  Once you’ve made it past the hurdles, you will look back at your old lifestyle and think, “If I only knew then what I know now…”

If you feel less than great in your day to day mood,  I recommend working out 7/week.  (you can replace this workout  with other types of exercises to mix it up.  If you can’t come up with other ones, see my crossfit section for more ideas.  you can mix in home yoga, other crossfit workouts, long walks, jogging, dancing, swimming, etc.)

7 days a week is what I call a “treatment dose”    It can change any hopeless and helpless situation.  It’s amazingly powerful when the rewards accumulate.

(be conscious of  your limitations, your heart, your joints, your feet, and your back.  Always consult with your doctor if you are unsure of any exercise)

Without further ado,  I present to you,

Dr. Neal’s Ultimate Home Workout (for all levels of fitness)

We’re going to start off with the full workout for those feeling pretty fit and then water it down for all other levels.

If you have been reading some of my crossfit posts, this workout represents the best crossfit-style workout that can be done at home.

For Athletes:

1)   Warm up:   jog in place for 5 minutes with athletic shoes on.  while bouncing around, swing the arms around in all driections stretching out the shoulders, chest, and back.   You can swing them in circles both directions and across the chest.  Bring you elbows back behind you back to open up the chest and back.

2) use a stopwatch or clock if available to time your workout.  You’ll be surprised how much this can change the intensity of the workout.  try it!

3)  Do the crossfit-style workout entitled:

“Annie-modified by Dr. Neal”

25  Burpees

50 sit-ups    (Keep your feet flat on floor.  you can cheat with momentum swinging and reaching with your arms.  Don’t grab the back of your neck.  Keep the pace with momentum and cheating)

20 Burpees

40 sit-ups

15 Burpees

30 sit-ups

10 Burpees

20 sit-ups

5  Burpees

10 sit-ups

**Remember you can always take a break to catch your breath.  Just get back into the action as soon as you can.  Have water available before you start.  Time the event, write down the time.

4)  Eat a conscious, nutritious meal without fear or compulsion.

5)  If available, take an old school bath.  Try this despite any reflex resistance.  try it.

6)  Put on comfortable clothing and bask in the rewards of your new found culture, personality, and wellness.   If the workout was done at the proper intensity level, this feeling should last many hours.  After doing 7 days a week for awhile,  the feeling can last for days at a time.   If you are not feeling the rewards, assume your intensity level was below the threshold for breaking you free of your mind and step it up better next time.

For those who workout occasionally:

1)   Warm up:   jog in place for 5 minutes with athletic shoes on.  while bouncing around, swing the arms around in all driections stretching out the shoulders, chest, and back.   You can swing them in circles both directions and across the chest.  Bring you elbows back behind you back to open up the chest and back.

Are you Scared of Food??

Tuesday, February 24th, 2009

While the food-acne relationship gets more and more press, I find my patients are asking me what they are “allowed” to eat.   We’ll be doing many future posts on the complex issues of nutrition, wellness, and acne later this year but I wanted to touch on this issue here briefly.

Here’s a couple points to bring the food-acne relationship back into proper perspective:

1) While eating a balanced diet is good for every cell in the body,   fear and obsessing about eating the “wrong” foods can cause a real stress…., which can cause acne.

2) None of the patients in these videos were given any dietary restrictions whatsoever.  Some were already conscious vegetarians with chronic, severe acne while others kept an unconscious diet throughout the whole program.

3) obsession, fear, and mania over nutritional supplements can cause a real emotional stress, thus causing medical disease.

Brief Bottom Line:  the more one attempts to simplify and control this problem with quick fixes,  the more one risks creating an obsessive-compulsive personality that is riddled with stress and disease.   Eat consciously, do not hope and wait, do not live in fear of food, and learn to trust others for help in areas where you consistently struggle.

Are you still Hoping and Waiting??

Friday, February 20th, 2009

instructionmanual_rev2_3    While hope can reassure us enough to keep ourselves from momentarily falling apart,  the idea of hoping and waiting for a treatable medical condition to magically get better is a path that will likely lead to frustration and failure.

Are you putting on creams or taking pills with the “hope” of better skin “one day” ??

If you are hoping and waiting,  you may be in for a very unpleasant surprise.  This condition does not get better “one day”.   If on the right road, this condition swiftly gets better in the first week of treatment.  If you have been on treatment for over 3 weeks and you think you are not getting better, any amount of hoping, wishing, waiting, or blogging will not increase your chances of magically getting better.

Are you hoping and waiting to grow out of this problem??

Don’t make this classic error.  I have 38 year old acne sufferers emailing me all the time with their stories of lifelong acne.  Hoping and waiting is the worst treatment plan of all…

Here’s an critical tip for all acne sufferers:

The longer acne sits active in your skin,  the more stubbornly resistant and chronic it becomes.  If you hope and wait or get on a amateur treatment plan that doesn’t quickly inactivate you in a few weeks,   you are essentially missing your window of opportunity to crush and extinguish this problem early before it becomes a chronic condition.   I usually say,  ”If a cheap program doesn’t rapidly inactivate the problem within 2-3 weeks,  it’s time to step up to the best and safest treatment plan possible to eliminate this problem sooner rather than later.”

The Real Fears of Scarring:

Besides making the active acne much more resistant, the biggest side effect of Hoping and Waiting is the continued wear and tear of the skin while you wait for a magical improvement.   This can’t be emphasized enough.  If your treatment plan is not rapidly inactivating your skin in the first 1-2 weeks of treatment,  you are risking 3-Dimentional scarring on a daily basis.  You have to understand that time = scarring.  It’s a race against time and every day you wish, hope, or wait is another wasted day that could have been spent healing with an true expert in the field.

“What if I’m already seeing a top dermatologist?  should I still not hope and wait??”

The simple answer is that you never hope and wait.  Ever.    I never put down the work of other doctors because I’m positive there are many great dermatologists out there with massive passion for this needless suffering.  However, regardless of reputation,  if your doctor can not reassure you that you are rapidly improving in the first 2 weeks,  then you have a real problem because you are being  left alone with no other option than to hope and wait…

After reading this, many people may ask…..,

“Well then….,   How long does it take to show real improvement on Dr. Neal’s Acne Bootcamp program??”

If you are not confidently improving on this program in the first 48 hours, something is wrong and you will be expected to contact Dr. Neal by email with some urgency.   48 hours is the longest we ever wait in this program.  Ever.

What if I’m already on Accutane??  Should I still not hope and wait??

If you have made the careful and wary decision to start accutane,  many will tell you to be patient.  As much as I agree with this idea in general, there are problems with this scenario as well.  If you are having massive inflammation during your full course of accutane, then you risk scarring up your skin pretty badly.  Even worse,  what if you patiently wait for these pills to work and then you end up getting unlucky and remain active?    Should you hope and wait for another course…?   how about a third…?   (We’ll discuss the pros and cons of Dr. Neal’s Acne Bootcamp vs. Oral Isotretinoin in another post)

Bottom line here:   If you are not rapidly getting better while on accutane,  you should try to see your doctor twice as often to make sure he or she knows of your progress or lack there of.  Unfortunately,  Accutane is not the cure for acne.

One of my goals as a physician who has developed a large practice in a era where people are wary  of medicine, doctors, asking for help, and emotional coaching is to push the new idea of, “The side effects of Inaction”   Rather than being scared of treatment, my goal is to get people to understand the dangers of inappropriate or lack of treatment.  These real side effects include scarring, increasing the stubbornness of the condition, mental and emotional deterioration, introversion,  and victimization.

**The side effects of inaction should be feared above all else.

-Dr. Neal

For those who dislike Benzoyl Peroxide…

Wednesday, February 11th, 2009

Don’t worry,  your acne is still completely treatable with or without these popular acne ingredients.
(All acne is completely treatable and preventable in this practice.)

Many people do not like Benzoyl Peroxide on their skin.  Many are “allergic”    People often dislike the flakiness, redness, rawness, itchiness, wrinkles, tightness, potential long term fears, need for moisturizer afterwards, and bleaching of clothing.

I guess it needs to be said explicitly that Benzoyl Peroxide is not the cure for Acne.  Every chronic acne sufferer who has tried and failed a 20 dollar regimen can attest to this fact.  Any website or infomercial that tells you that a simple benzoyl peroxide regimen can treat “almost any case” is grossly exaggerating and needs to be held accountable for these false claims.

A basic benzoyl peroxide regimen will help some, leave some unchanged, and make some people worse.  The false claim that a basic “BP” regimen is the answer to aggressive and chronic persistent cases causes real harm when a patient stays on a this type of regimen for months while not improving.  While hoping and waiting,  they often permanently scar their skin and their mind.

I met a patient in the office the other day who was on a benzoyl peroxide “regimen” last year.  He told me it took him 8 months to clear up on this regimen and then stayed clear for only 2 months before fully relapsing.

Not everyone knows how important it is to correct acne fast.  It only takes weeks to months of active inflammation to permanently scar skin depending on the type of skin.  If you are on a hope and wait regimen,  please seek real help if you are not rapidly improving in a few weeks.

Our program is not dependent on this chemical.  We have a wide variety of natural extracts and ingredients in our line and are not dependent on any one ingredient.
In fact, we are actually developing an alternative line of products for Pregnant and Lactating women that has already clinically proven itself in the office to be as effective as our original program and has no traditional acne ingredients whatsoever.

It’s tempting to underestimate this new innovative program.  Many people mistakenly presume that we are re-packaging the mediocre ideas of infomercials or amateur online businesses.    This post will hopefully clear up all confusion about ingredients and the power of this practice.

Any prior knowledge of ingredients will not help you in this practice as this is NEW program with results that have never been seen prior.   This video gallery that was built in single year shows results that have never been witnessed in such a dramatic and efficient fashion.

It again becomes a matter of trust in our expertise.  This is a specialized practice that has obviously innovated the field.   We are not re-packaging old ideas here whatsoever.  This is real medical practice based in passion, clinical research, and invention.  Dr. Neal is an doctor and an inventor with multiple patents pending.   We can fix anyone’s acne with or without active ingredients.  The videos are meant to be watched closely and critically.

The more you watch,  the more difficult if becomes to deny the reality that acne suffering has become an unnecessary suffering.

If you chose to trust again and enter this program,  you will be expected to email me  your story on day 1.   Don’t go at it alone.

I’ll be here for you,
-Dr. Neal

Our new Culture of Higher Integrity

Monday, February 9th, 2009

picture-27Following the lead of our amazing new president, I can feel we are entering a new era of higher integrity where lies don’t get people to the top anymore.   Whereas in past generations where cliches like “business is business” were accepted,  I believe we have entered a powerful period where integrity, honesty, and straight-forward communication will be prioritized in business over all else.

I believe consumers will drive businesses to this new standard and shy away from older fashioned business practices.  This consumer pressure will elevate the standard further and “business will no longer be only about business”  It will be about getting compensation for taking care of people and keeping to one’s word.

In keeping with my own standards of integrity,  this business has a perfectly clean slate that intends above all else to stay at the highest standards of accountability, responsibility, and “first doing no harm.”

Other businesses that do not have the innovations to create such powerful acne results will try to tear us down using a “business is business” philosophy.  But it won’t be tolerated by consumers and I believe the truth will rise above all hidden agendas.

Some companies online are trying to slander this practice.  They do so in ignorance, disillusionment, pessimism, and pure greed.  They can see that this practice is really helping people and they want to minimize it while making money off people who are continuing to needlessly suffer.  For those companies who read this and are using all your energy to hide the amazing results of this real medical practice on your forums and such,  your lack of integrity will not rise in our new culture.  Time will show that your efforts only degrade your own worth.  It is obvious from the rapidly enlarging video gallery that something miraculous has been happening here in New York.  This truth will eventually become known despite any and all resistance.

In this era of higher accountability,  I also expect a higher responsibility from my patients and clients.  If someone has convinced me they are ready for this program and says they will follow instructions,  I will hold them to their word and they can hold me to mine that I’ll be available if they need me.  As the online practice quickly grows, I will continue to innovate ways to maintain my efficient responses to everyone’s emails in a timely manner.

For the large group who has had real transformation and success from our program, please do not hesitate to speak out strongly against any skeptics who mistakenly believe that acne is an unchangeable condition.

I’ll be here if you need me,

-Dr. Neal

FAQ’s: Are you really having a perfect success rate??

Sunday, February 1st, 2009

I know it’s hard for many suffering individuals to believe that this condition is always treatable.  The truth is that we actually have not failed with this program in the last 2 years. 3 years ago we were running about a 95% success rate and then tweaked it further to completely get victory over any case.  Not many people realize that we made all these videos in a little over a year.  (including all the new ones on youtube!)

Did you know we have a whole collection of other success videos that we never got permission to use? Think about the math here:  Because this program is relatively pricey and new,  we only have about 2 new acne patients in the office join per month and we have more up close videos than any other company in the world!   The other companies have literally millions of clients on their program and have nowhere near the testimonials we are posting every month.

I believe after watching all these videos many times,  the other photoshopped and made up testimonials of other large companies will start to look completely different and everyone will realize that there is something real, different, and miraculous happening in this program.

For those who remain skeptical,  I would question how many times you have critically watched the videos.  If you look and listen more closely, it becomes impossible to deny the reality here…

be well,

-Dr. Neal
