Acne Bootcamp Tips: (2 biggest requirements)
hey Everyone,
In an effort to prevent people from making mistakes, let’s dig deeper into the specific expectations of this new type of program.
1) The Focus of your photos.
In this program, know that the degree of focus on your photo can make or break your program. Crop the photos as much as you’d like to hide your identity. The only thing that matters is the focus.
To achieve more focus with any camera:
-Use as much light as possible. The bathroom is usually good, or try indirect sunlight that is coming into the house. Try both!
-Hold perfectly still. If you move, it can blur the details. You can hold the camera or prop it up on timer for more stability. (try propping it inside the medicine cabinet?)
Basic tip: try many angles, distances, and lights. Then choose your best shots for each area.
Let’s do an example together:
How many bumps do you see in this photo? Estimate or guess? Try it…

Now, how many do you see in this photo? (estimate or guess)

count them…

Did you guess close to 704??

(If you think the new zoomed visualizer is as cool as I do, please leave a comment about it. What was your original guess??)
and the second requirement is:
2) Time-Sensitive Emails:
It should be obvious to everyone that the Day 1 checklist from the “Ask Dr. Neal” section marks the beginning of your program. Any other use of the system without this checklist is considered reckless use outside of the program. (this should be obvious and is completely non-negotiable)
While checklists should be sent on day 1 regardless of photos, we will all be clear that you’re really not considered a participating client unless you skillfully capture a photo. Evidence is only way to prevent guessing, and guessing causes anxiety. (you can crop the photos to hide your identity. All photos, even the cropped ones, are NEVER posted without your written consent)
If you are delaying day 1 or follow up emails for any reason, it becomes obvious that your commitment to this rigid program is not present. In 2011, there is no good excuse for not finding internet access. There are free internet services available at coffee shops, computer stores, book stores, hotels, etc.
If read closely, this post will prevent all confusion and mistakes in this new type of practice.

hey Patrick,
Acne is a scarring condition and not a situation where you want to wait for your future solution to become available. I recommend either finding a local doctor who cares enough to make it happen or getting a friend to help translate perfectly. you can use acne analytics anytime. The back and forth emails must have good reading and writing comprehension.
Don’t hope and wait with acne. it scars.

Hello Dr. Neal,
I am an 18 year old male. I have been struggling with moderate acne on and off for two years. Early in my junior year of high school, I had a minor case which I went on minocycline for (bad idea.) The oral antibiotic took away the problem pretty rapidly and did not come back until a year later. I have recently discovered that acne antibiotics kill pretty much ALL of the bacteria in the body.. including the beneficial bacteria. For that, I refuse to take any oral pharmaceuticals to temporarily rid myself of this chronic infection. Since it has come back, I have used all kinds of topical treatments: Clearasil, Acne Free, Ziana, Shiseido, and recently I’ve started using Lush Cosmetics due to the natural, herbal benefits. I have been getting aesthetic treatments every two weeks for the last two months. I have changed my diet drastically. I am 125 pounds and stand 5′10″. I am pretty slim, but very healthy. I exercise at least every other day. The supplements I take every morning are Omega 3, Calcium-Magnesium-Zinc, and a B-Vitamin. I wash these down with whey protein powder mixed with milk. I am sure that my acne is a hormonal reaction. Diary products, I have researched, are known to contain hormones. I have discontinued my consumption of milk and any other dairy products starting today. I do, however eat Activia yogurt for the probiotic benefit. As you can see, I am desperate for the solution to my problem. It has taken a real emotional toll on me. I am a very happy, social person and this is getting in the way of that. Please help. I feel confident that you can!

Hi Dr Neal.
I just moved To the USA about 4 months ago, my skin did not relate well to the whether and I broke out so much so fast (3-4 pimples a day) in the last 3 months. I managed them now bye taking some pills orally and visiting a dermatologist. Now I only have 3-4 pimples on my face instead of over a 100. However, my face looks so ugly because I have acne marks all over my forehead and cheeks. Should I purchase your products or is it too late? The scars I have are the type of scar that give a bumpy look to my face, forehead and chin and it’s not smooth at all. The scars are not flat and they have made me look so ugly.

Hello Dr. Neal. I have been struggling with a cystic acne since 2007. It’s not severe but very mild. I have tried “everything” from pro active, drug store brands, and even oral medication from my dermatologist. I accidentally ran across your website and decided to check it out. I like what I see so far, but I have a few questions. According to the skin types recommended for each product, I would need the moderate care. I really hope this helps me… If I decide to order your products, what am I required to do?
Thank you for your time
